Because it's always the best when meaty beefy manly soldiers are actually kittens underneath.
Ideally I would love this to be a five times fic with the fifth part being smutty (although this is not necessary, I'll take anything). RE the smut though, recent events have me shipping him with pretty much all the soldiers + Strange so go nuts and write your fave if you have one. Here's some of my ideas for cute moments. Please feel free to suggest/write others or ignore all of these completely, they're pretty much just for inspiration:
- Grant finding a teeny tiny lost kitten in the bushes at the camp: holding it, feeding it, nose-nuzzling with it etc. Somehow he doesn't mind it clambering up his uniform to sit on his shoulder. The other soldiers try to pet it and he's adamant that they should "find their own kitten."
- The men happen across an orphan Italian child (orphaned by war?) but only Grant can speak to him/her. The child is pretty terrified of them all at first but Grant is very soothing/fatherly. Perhaps the child becomes very interested in his uniform and starts pointing out various parts and asking questions abut them which Grant is very happy to answer.
- He talks in his sleep. The men find it hilarious. Strange is ushered over as they gather around his tent and they all have to suppress their laughter after asking him things that yield hilarious results.
- In a moment of boredom Grant starts braiding his horse's mane.
- Cooking. Grant has an impressive (and wholly surprising) talent for it. Perhaps Strange/someone comes to visit him at home and is most shocked to find him in the kitchen (wearing an apron), covered in flour and surrounded by mess, cooking up something very not!manly which ends up tasting very very good.
- Him taking tea from a cup and saucer (and needing to do the little finger lift because his hands are too big to hold the handle otherwise.)
- For the optional smut, maybe Grant being a very generous lover? Lots of kissing. Lots of chatting about how wonderful his partner is. Lots of cuddling and stroking and gazing. Make my heart bleed.
(TL;DR - I want fluff about this man who looks like he eats bowls of fluff for breakfast)
