Prompt: This could be gen, het, slash, or poly and I'd be perfectly happy. It hinges on the rebuilding! Whenever there’s a poorly run or ruined house in a story, all I want is for someone to come along and fix it up. Basically I’d love fic which deals with all that: The clearing away of the Gentleman’s rubble, the fixing of the actual walls instead of putting a glamour on them, getting a fire going in the fireplace (dropped branches only so as not to offend local trees), physically scrubbing away centuries of dirt, returning gaudy stuff the Gentleman has stolen, redecorating etc.

It could be a romance where Stephen falls in love with his interior decorator, either author’s choice or an OC. I read a romance novel like that and man, it was satisfying to see that house come together (the romance could’ve been better). Imagine how many interesting variations you could have depending on the choice of partner! Mrs Brandy? Segundus? Arabella?? Reanimated Drawlight???

Huge bonus: Strange & Norrell visiting Stephen in Hope Regained.

Also a bonus: Stephen meeting Tom Brightwind and exchanging opinions about Englishmen / traditional fairy decorating styles.

PROMPT:

Childermass has an unfortunate run-in with some fairies while in the vicinity of Starecross. Segundus, drawn by the sensation of magic, happens across them and realises that Childermass is in very deep trouble indeed, so he barges in and tries to stop it, laying claim to Childermass in the process in a blind panic. The fairies, in an act of 'kindness', decide to take this very literally and magically bind Childermass to Segundus, so that Segundus' 'servant' won't run off and cause trouble again. They then vanish, leaving the two men to deal with the fact that Segundus has basically managed to accidentally enslave Childermass while trying to rescue him.

Up to author!anon how well this goes, but I would deeply love some absolute horror on Segundus' part and some angst/anger/resignation on Childermass'. I would prefer if the bond was eventually broken again, with active effort on their part, but if there was quite a while first in which there was anger and guilt and enforced proximity and consent issues and feelings realised at the worst possible moments. I am a sucker for angst with a happy ending.

PROMPT: Wellington is very often seen as dominant, or at least in charge, in control, the great leader running everything, and I love it. It works so well with the way the character appears in the TV series.

But this is also the man who wept for friends he lost, saw Waterloo as something more tragic that glorious victory and cared for the people he fought with. So anon would very much like it if someone wrote about Wellington being a little more... well, a little more of a sweetie actually. This would probably only work for the TV!canon but what if there were rumours that got back to London after Jeremy Johns' death that Jonathan was caught up in the battle? People love a bit of propaganda; so basically give me Norrell being wrongly told Jonathan has been killed at war.

This would be back when everything was sweet between them; no talk of walking through mirrors or John Uskglass...Norrell was still very fond of Jonathan at this point and furthermore he seems so happy to see him back in episode 4...

So what would be his grief process? Would he repress it and just be grumpy and snappy? Would he lose his shit over losing the only other magician in England (not to mention at this time his apprentice). How would Lascelles and Drawlight react? How would Childermass react?

I'd prefer it if this wasn't shippy, I'd just like a nice dollop of angst!gen :)

Inspired by numerous recent conversations on tumblr, how about a fic featuring a really randy De Lancey being taught a lesson in patience by Lord Wellington? I'm envisioning De Lancey being called to Wellington's quarters where Wellington orders him to strip, then leaves him standing there at attention, naked and aching, while Wellington finishes writing some dispatches. Perhaps Wellington might make the situation even worse by throwing out the occasional suggestive (or downright filthy) comment, further reducing De Lancey to a quivering mass of need?

Just a couple of ideas. I'd love it if someone ran wild with this!

Maybe Strange and Norrell cast a wonky spell that turns the household upside down, maybe the York Society does the same thing, maybe he ends up in a Faerie kingdom that works like this, however you want to manage it. Just something where Childermass is suddenly the master, the servants and people of lower class around him are suddenly lords, the gentry are suddenly servants, and there are reactions and fallout to this.

I'd LOVE to read about a character being fed. It could be something delicious as a treat, something nutritional if they're poorly, even something necessary because they can't feed themselves (injured Grant after Waterloo?) I just want one character sitting and spooning food into another's mouth. It could be angsty, sexy, cracky, I don't care, I just have a mighty need for this, it's my mega-kink.

There's been food-related fills before (and I've devoured them greedily) but I'd really like something where the feeding element is the focus.
