No need to apologise! I'd love to read more exploring Childermass's identity, as he is in quite a unique position regarding class. In the book it's made clear how his appearance and manners contrast with the regard other 'higher born' people have for him (such as when he tells Segundus he can find wealthy pupils for a non-magical school). His voice/accent would be a lovely way to do that. And the Childervoice is a huge part of his appeal to :)

As a side note, I noticed in the show that Norrell sounds more Yorkshire when he is with Childermass and no one else - particularly noticeable when they are in the carriage on the way to Sir Walter.
