Norrell was curled up next to Childermass, feet entangled in his feet, head resting on his chest. Childermass’ eyes flicked over from the page, and he saw that Norrell’s thumb had slipped into his mouth. As he read, he caught glimpses of Norrell’s face relaxing in stages, and his eyes drifting closed, and finally, his breath evening out into the rhythms of sleep.
