So there was a post on tumblr where someone described what Childermass and Lascelles were doing in last night's episode was a mating contest type thing over Norrell's affections, and I have been unable to get the thought out of my mind.

So they are doing the whole "I have most influence, listen to me" thing, but then sex happens.

Either Norrell with Childermass and Lascelles separately, or as a threesome with the two men glaring at each other and making Norrell just a confused puddle of need between them.

So, yeah.

After magically sealing off the door to the library, Jonathan and Norrell surprise Childermass while he's reading beside the fire by taking him to pieces. Jonathan is on his knees giving him some oral relief while Norrell props himself on the arm of the chair and kisses him, occasionally taking a peek at Jonathan.

Our Gilbert, early in the Pillar of Darkness, does something that really pisses off Jonathan (can someone think up what that could have been?) Reacting with his typical aplomb and directness (ie none at all), he decides that the best thing for them is not to be together, so that he doesn't irritate Strange, and, after all, he himself was always best off alone in his library...wasn't he? So he does a spell.

Now they are magically separated, so they are living parallel lives in the same place. Sometimes they see evidence that the other is still there: a still-warm cup of tea, as though the other has just left it, etc.

After a bit, they can magically have brief conversations in dreams, which at least makes it clear what happened. Mr Norrell is awfully sorry, and upset. He is also horribly lonely, and barely consciously aware of that.

Eventually they get back together, and Norrell keeps on stealthily holding Strange's hand and trying to get close to him, because what if he vanishes again.

Smut v welcome but fluff also delightful--no tragedy plz! At least as much emphasis on the eventual comfort as the hurt!

+1 Norrell has difficulty figuring out why he's unhappy.
+1 Jonathan takes a much shorter time to figure out what happened than to work out why.
+1 Back together, at first Jonathan has to tell him to let go to give him a chance to get dressed/go to the privy/make tea etc.
+1 Back together, Norrell needs to sleep next to Jonathan.

There have been some really wonderful fics about Norrell and Jonathan in the Pillar written recently, but most tell of things from Jonathan's perspective. I would really, REALLY love a fic that tells of their growing romance from Norrell's perspective. Norrell's thoughts when he first really thinks about how he is now stuck - perhaps for a very long time - alone in the Darkness with the man he has so long desired, and how this makes him act towards Jonathan: suddenly shy, maybe? Distant? Cold? The first touch, accidental or otherwise; the first time Norrell touches Jonathan, simply for the sake of touching him - or vice versa. The first awkward admission of feelings, the first kiss.

It doesn't have to go any further than fluff, but if it were to go further - to their first lovemaking - I would LOVE to read about Norrell being totally overwhelmed by it. Not just because it is his first time ever, but because this man he adores, that he has lusted after for so long, wants him, is touching him, is undressing him - I'd love it if the first attempt has Norrell stopping Jonathan, not because he doesn't want it but because he is so overcome with need and love that he feels like he is about to die.

Anyway - sorry for such a long prompt! I just want Norrell feels, tons of feels, awakening of feelings and desires and longing... You get the picture. :)

I would *love* to see a recovered Strange in the darkness with Norrell. He is completely better again in every way (no more eye bags, complete acceptance of their position, back to his gentlemanly self etc.) apart from the pineapples. I want him being completely phobic of them to the point of the mere mention of them has him sweating and panting (perhaps they turn up in a book he's working through with Norrell). If he sees one in the flesh it triggers a panic attack which could result in a fainting fit (the more scared he is the better).

Cue Norrell to the rescue! I want Norrell being completely professional about his fellow magician's fear. No making fun of him about it. No asking him why it scares him. He just sets about sorting him out as tenderly as he can. This could be shippy (hand holding, face stroking in way of calming/distracting him etc.) or not (folding the page that mentions the pineapple in his beloved book and clipping it down, fixing him up a nice hot drink and encouraging him to sip at it) I would be thrilled by either :)))))

Basically, I think both Strange and Norrell would be terrible to deal with when sick/when trying to care for a sick person, and there seems to be to be great potential for fanfic there.

What I want is for one or, even better, both of them, to become ill in some way in the darkness, and for the other, or both, to have to endure it. If they're both sick please just imagine them trying to outdo each other in their Indisposition and Unwellness and both of them trying to silently force the other to make the tea so they don't have to rise from their sickbed.

I would love something exploring Honeyfoot and Segundus's relationship and the fact that Honeyfoot signed the agreement with Norrell not to do magic again. I've always thought Honeyfoot's willingness to sign away his own chances of it just because he so keenly believed in it was incredibly brave and selfless, and it must be endlessly painful to know and see so many people around him doing magic, and always have to abstain because he's a man of his word. I would love something where Segundus recognizes his angst and faux-stoicism about this and tries to find ways to make Segundus fully involved and experiencing magic while still respecting that Honeyfoot is a man of his word and that matters to him just as much as magic does.
