Our Gilbert, early in the Pillar of Darkness, does something that really pisses off Jonathan (can someone think up what that could have been?) Reacting with his typical aplomb and directness (ie none at all), he decides that the best thing for them is not to be together, so that he doesn't irritate Strange, and, after all, he himself was always best off alone in his library...wasn't he? So he does a spell.

Now they are magically separated, so they are living parallel lives in the same place. Sometimes they see evidence that the other is still there: a still-warm cup of tea, as though the other has just left it, etc.

After a bit, they can magically have brief conversations in dreams, which at least makes it clear what happened. Mr Norrell is awfully sorry, and upset. He is also horribly lonely, and barely consciously aware of that.

Eventually they get back together, and Norrell keeps on stealthily holding Strange's hand and trying to get close to him, because what if he vanishes again.

Smut v welcome but fluff also delightful--no tragedy plz! At least as much emphasis on the eventual comfort as the hurt!

+1 Norrell has difficulty figuring out why he's unhappy.
+1 Jonathan takes a much shorter time to figure out what happened than to work out why.
+1 Back together, at first Jonathan has to tell him to let go to give him a chance to get dressed/go to the privy/make tea etc.

When Strange and Grant met for the first time in the book they had that conversation about Weymouth over cold chicken and claret. Grant preferred it to Brighton while Strange hated it because when he was there he liked some girl who abandoned him for a guy with an estate in Jamaica and a glass eye.

SO. what if at the time when still young Jonathan Strange was pining in Weymouth he met Grant there and all kinds of debauchery ensued?? with Grant trying to help Strange get his mind off that girl, a lot of drinking, stupid dares, gambling, waking up in ditches and haystacks and under tables in their rooms and just naked in bed with each other. basically party animals Grant and Strange drinking and having sex and wasting their youth.

could be a very explicit version of a Brideshead Revisited kind of summer, when you live, love and want to stay in that moment forever but life moves on.

would be also cool to see any insight on how it changes things when they meet later on Peninsula.

Hey sorry just realizing I have done this wrong the first time. Thanks for your hard work!!!

Lascelles sometimes likes to share Drawlight with other men and watch him get fucked and utterly debauched. One time however the people he loans him too are crueler than even Lascelles had expected. He enjoys pushing Drawlight's limits but they go far, far beyond and he starts to feel angry as he watches them. He ends up telling them to stop and taking Drawlight away, either to give him a proper dicking himself or to express a rare tender moment or both.

Bonus: a hint of Lascelles having developed real feelings for Drawlight but trying to brush it off as "I'm just angry they were damaging my property..."

So ever since that amazing moment where Segundus holds out that (delicious looking) spoonful of blancmange for Lady Pole, I've wanted fic about it.

First of all, I don't care how it happens, but I want Segundus trying to make it for her (perhaps she requests that it is he who makes it and not the cook, if there is one, or he just wants to give it a try) and failing MISERABLY. Give me Segundus getting frustrated in his endearing way that he's made a bowl of lumpy cement that doesn't even resemble blancmange.

So once the kitchen mishaps have happened (with perhaps the cook constantly trying to intervene or giggling in the corner) and he successfully makes a blancmange, Lady Pole DOESN'T WANT TO EAT IT! Give me Segundus trying to convince her to eat it (perhaps guilt-tripping her by telling her all about how hard it was to make), maybe having a spoonful himself and telling her how lovely it is, etc. Basically -- please eat this Lady Pole, do you know how LONG it took me to make this!!

If this gets shippy I'll be over the actual moon because this pairing gives me life (and feeding is one of my biggest kinks), but I'd be so so happy with gen too :)

When Norrell has the Gentleman bring Lady Pole back, instead of asking for part of her life, he's interested in Norrell. He's not seen anything like Norrell in centuries and he wants a bit of it. IDK like there's all this magic in this repressed little English guy and he's like yeah, I'll hit that.

So the Gentleman takes Norrell off to Lost Hope for a night, saying no time'll have passed so Norrell's well up for seeing a fairy world. Norrell just don't know what he's in for, like he's not been with anybody before or not with a guy.

There was a prompt a while back about fairies having weird ass things, so maybe work that in? Like Norrell's up for it until he sees it, then he's like no way that's going anywhere near my ass, but the Gentleman says you don't and Lady Pole stays dead, so he does it.

Don't mind if either Norrell finds he's kind of into it but really ashamed about wanting it or if he's fighting the whole thing and there are magic restrains and stuff, but yeah basically him being done roughly and very thoroughly by he Gentleman, who gets him off whether Norrell into it or not, as he seems to think that Norrell getting off too makes it okay.

Consent semi-unwillingly given and regretted in first chapter, along the lines of not being able to go back on a bargain struck with a Fairy (which is pretty-much a sexualisation of canonical plot). Irrevocable consent is OK in fiction, not real life! The sexual horror is not visibly graphic in terms of gore or organs, but an attempt to convey instinctive revulsion at a partner who seems unnatural.

Second chapter is sex with a human, and enthusiastic consent, so could be read by anyone who likes my stories.

NOTES: The original prompt had the Gentleman getting Norrell off, but I couldn't quite get that to fit with my "sexual horror followed by good sex" structure. Oops.

PROMPT: So in the series we see Childermass sleep off his gunshot wound and get straight back to work (and riding!) after a couple of days. This is all well and good if he's a strapping lad, but what of his emotional health? I want to know if there would be any fallout from such a traumatic experience for him. Would he bolt at loud noises? Would the sight of guns give him a panic attack? I'd love to read about that.

How about a Norrell who is lonely and doesn't have many friends and companions, and never did, so whenever someone is kind to him and becomes his friend or shows attention to him he falls in love with them (could be that he imagines himself in love, or actually falls in love properly). It always ends badly and he is always so upset afterwards, meaning he has so much hope each time that this time it will be better and they will love him back.
