(Anonymous) 2015-08-30 03:06 am (UTC)(link)This, especially, made me laugh: Mere seconds were enough to tell him its familiar source - he turned directly to the far corner of his room, and asked the shadows there if they would like to take a seat nearer the fire. The shadows responded (slightly disappointed that their trick was so quickly discovered) that they would be pleased to do so, and when Segundus returned his gaze to the other side of the table, Childermass was seated opposite, shuffling his cards with the utmost nonchalance.
