(Anonymous) 2015-12-15 02:46 am (UTC)(link)This is absolutely beautiful. You weaved the smaller stories together into one beautiful tapestry and the whole picture is just wonderful. You write very magically A!A, I was totally absorbed and found myself gasping out loud on a few occasions.
I particularly liked the explanation for why Childermass was hired and I'm sure I'll be thinking about the Lascelles infatuation Norrell had for days to come. I've never considered those two as a pairing but you've convinced me entirely (even if it is one-sided.) The part with the mirror was painful (and was the part that got me blubbing) especially the note in Childermass's handwriting. It made me think of the times when you find old notes/cards/letters from loved ones no longer with you and you just wish you could talk to them. Norrell was lucky that he had the spell. It was so touching. Thank you so much for writing this, I do hope you write more!
