YES GOOD. I actually had this thought myself - the scene where Segundus ends up in Strange's dream was pretty sensate behaviour wasn't it. I'd love to see a version where the main characters are all part of a cluster - the first one to be born in 300 years - all of them dream of the Raven King. All of them have to work together to find a way to bring him back.

OP here -- ooh, I like this idea. Let's say the cluster includes:

Strange
Norrell
Segundus
Stephen
Childermass
Lady Pole
Arabella
Flora

I almost included Vinculus, but I feel like the clusters are supposed to be more or less gender balanced - and Vinculus is really something else. Maybe his book actually gives birth to the cluster, since there aren't any existing ones to create it. Also Flora needs to be in more stuff.

Yes, Vinculus as the one who created the cluster is perfect. Plus you have him popping up in the most inconvenient moments like Jonas (ESPECIALLY with Norrell because that is comedy gold I mean come on).

And I 100% agree about Flora needing to be in more things. I'm desperately casting about for more female characters that could be a part of the cluster. The ladies of Grace Adieu?

What about Grant/Hadley-Bright (not female I know, but)? They could do with a fighter...

Possibly one of the ladies, but we'd have to choose someone to knock off and I can't think of who! Maybe Segundus? I can't decide. Also, Childermass must know how to fight.

Would this be set in the midst of the book or before/instead of those events? I actually kind of like the latter. Nobody knows each other yet, except Jonathan and Arabella and Norrell and Childermass. Emma is still very sick and dying because her stupid mother won't call a doctor (rage) and they have to help her. (I feel like under these circumstances she and Norrell would really bond; in the book when Norrell first meets her he seems to really identify with her, having been frequently ill himself.)

I just remembered the sensates are supposed to all be born on the same day, which is impossible here, but let's ignore that. Because: magic.

Yeah, Norrell would be potentially the most interesting character in this because he would HAVE to empathise, and see things from a different point of view, so he's going to be well out of his comfort zone. And I love the idea of them uniting to save Emma, and Norrell and Emma getting on really well. Equally, however, Norrell being forced to experience the emotions of a woman he damned into a half-life in Fairie would be pretty fucked up and therefore I want it.

Strange and Arabella fall in love SO DEEP and HARd the first time they ever see one another and it would be a beautiful moment.

As much as I would love to see Childermass as part of the cluster (I'm trying not to make too rigid parallells here but he's totally the Wolfgang) he'd work really well as an Amanita-type character for Norrell? But then again so would Grant for Strange if the cluster was born while they were out in the Peninsular? Thoughts? Thoughts from the group?
