Additional author's note: I’m not really sure what they were doing with the whole ‘fairy tales but from the fairy’s perspective’ thing in the show, but I’ve still tried to incorporate it here. I guess because it’s the gentleman’s enchantment, the things Emma is compelled to say instead of what she wants to say are stories that he’s familiar with, rather than those a human might tell? idk
Anyway, for anyone who’s wondering: I’m not planning on having them break the enchantment any faster than they do in canon, mostly because I don’t think anyone present has any idea how to summon a fairy, and also because I don’t think the gentleman’s defeat would have been possible without the return of English magic. So poor Emma’s going to have to suffer a bit longer, I’m afraid.
