I'm not the person you were talking to, but during one of the serial prompter's, uh episodes, I kind of snapped and asked the mod if we could have a prompt freeze. They replied saying they were thinking of having one around 4000 comments. We're currently at 3930, so at this rate we may well have one in the next day or two (or if Prompty McPrompter rears their head again, this evening...)

I think it might be a good thing and encourage more fills - this seems to have been the case in past kinkmemes that I have taken part in. I suppose we'll have to see how it goes.

I think a prompt freeze is a really good idea. It will give us time to read those fills we've been meaning to read and dig through the pages to find those super inspiring prompts we may have missed (which could very easily be the case in the last 4/5 pages thanks to serial prompter!)

Hopefully the mods take the opportunity of a prompt freeze to remind everyone of how it's nice to fill as much as one prompts. That might discourage the prompter from going prompt crazy as soon as the new post is up.

Argh! And I just posted a prompt I'd love to see filled! Now it's going to get buried under a pile of obscure characters and single-sentence prompts.

Oh no!!

I've literally been refreshing page 22 waiting for 4,000 to be hit. It is going to be a breath of fresh air to have this place closed for a little while. Just a little breather, that's all it needs.

Feel a bit sad this is gonna happen tbh - despite being annoyed at what seem like some very careless prompts.

Please try not to be sad passerby anon! The prompt freeze will only be in place for a little while I'm sure. When the new prompt post opens, the prompts you have saved up will be right there on the first page to inspire writers who have had a chance for a break!

I don't even actually have any prompts - think I have posted two so far!

I just enjoyed reading the prompts and chatting - though there seemed to be less cheerful chat after the weird promptflood, admittedly.
