This has bothered me as well. I've posted several fills myself, but I'm busy and I write fairly slow, so it takes me a while to get a story to a state I view as postable. Add to that a propensity for writing longer fics, and it takes me a while. These sorts of comments make writing stressful rather than fun, and seem to dismiss all the stories I've already posted. Needless to say, I am not pleased by these implications.

Agreed. I feel the same way. Thought it was just me but? I don't know, I feel bad, I don't want to seem mean or pick on anyone, but it does feel a little hurtful even though I'm sure that's not the intention? Anyway thanks for putting it so well in your comment.

It feels v.
awkward to bring it up but perhaps now is the time to think about how we can make sure that the meme remains a happy place for everyone, no matter what their contributions to it.

No, this is very VERY important.

NOBODY on this meme should be made to feel unhappy. There has to be something that can be done to make sure the meme is a constant source of joy and inspiration to everyone, and this of course includes the person in question.

Definitely agree with this! This should be a happy fun place for everyone. The likelihood is that the person in question had no idea how these sorts of comments came off. They might have wanted to encourage other writers to join in the fun, not realizing they came across as shaming and dismissive of everyone else's hard work or different paces.

Hopefully, now that certain discussions are being had over on the prompts thread regarding this, the person in question will realize how their comments sound to other people, and will tone it down.

Yes, this. I feel bad for saying it as this poster contributes a lot. It just makes me feel that what I contribute (not as much as I would like) is worth less. Plus, repeated angling for comments - I do try to comment if I have enjoyed something, but again - not always possible for various reasons.
