There are multiple reasons joining forces with Strange proves a better gig than working for Norrell. Getting fucked into blissful exhaustion by Jonathan and Arabella is a big one. Being held and cherished afterwards just as much so.

I'll leave the finer details to the author. Can be set during the series/novel or after, assuming Strange finds his way back.

PROMPT:
I know there have been a couple of bathing prompts with Vinculus, but I wanted something slightly specific. Can I get someone, very gently and carefully, washing and combing out Vinculus' hair and beard? Not so much 'throw him in the tub and scrub the filth off', but more setting him to rights and taking care of him in ways he maybe hasn't experienced all that often. Though I wouldn't mind having the 'throw him in the tub' part first, he probably does need it, but I'd like it to turn gentle and intent when it gets to his hair. There's probably a lot of snarls and mats in there, and it's close to his throat where he was hanged, so I'd like to see someone cradling his head and minding him a bit.

I'm pretty easy on pairings, but I'll admit to some preference for Childermass, Stephen or John Uskglass (or a combination of the above).

Okay hear me out . . . Ever since I watched the last episode I've been hung up on Lascelles's TV fate. It's very different from the book but it's still interesting imo. When the Gentleman turns Lascelles to china and he shatters, Lascelles still appears "conscious" when he's stepped on as he can be heard groaning from within the pieces. So what if he's still alive in there? Wouldn't that just be the most horrible kind of torture imaginable!

If this is the case it means Lascelles is trapped in the Darkness with Norrell and Strange for as long as they are! I'd like to think the magicians wouldn't leave Lascelles in pieces on the floor but would sweep him up and put him somewhere safer. Maybe they'd attempt putting him back together again. Perhaps they can't break the fairy curse but can at least arrange the china into a more pleasing shape (a teapot perhaps? a teacup?) and place him on the mantelpiece. They might talk to him too, which would be especially sweet if they weren't 100% sure if he was in there but just found it nice to have someone (or something!) else to talk to.

I'd be happy to read any take on post-series Lascelles, cracky or deadly serious is fine with me! I'm also happy whether or not he escapes the curse because heaven knows he deserves it!

In the book, Sir Thomas Lawrence's double portrait of Norrell and Strange "hung in Mr Norrell's library from November 1814 until the summer of the following year when it was removed. It has not been seen since." So who removed it? And why? I'm guessing it was taken down because of the rift between the two magicians. Did Lascelles convince Norrell it would be "impolitic" to keep it, or was it Norrell's own idea, because the image of himself and Strange together was too painful for him?

And the most important question - where did it end up? Thrown straight on the fire, collecting dust in some obscure collection - or was it simply moved to a more private location in Hanover-square (or even Hurtfew Abbey)?

I'm a big fan of the Strange/Norrell pairing, so if you can work it in somehow that'd be awesome, but I'll quite happily take gen, too. I'd just love to see someone's take on this particular little mystery!
